Why Choose Us?
We are a small company based in the Shetland Islands. We have long, calm days of blue skies in summer, and the wildest winters in Britain. It is magical!

We know the hassle, costs and frustration of dealing
with suppliers, deliveries and contractors who are often very far away.
We know that if you do not do a job properly in Shetland, then the weather will destroy it. Nothing survives in this beautifully rugged place in winter unless it is the finest quality and installed with skill, care and using the correct materials for the enviroment.
We know you want it to be right, first time. So do we!
We want to grow, we want to build a network a reliable and conscientious contractors and we want you to help us! Your word of mouth recommendation to friends, family and colleagues is worth its weight in gold. And we'll only achieve that by doing the best possible job we can for you.
We are working on developing a network of contractors nationwide. If we don't have anyone local to you, we'll work with you to find someone that we feel confident in, and you feel comfortable with. Your knowledge is important to us!
Finally, we'll work with you via email, phone and mail to help you find the perfect fence, the perfect decking. Together, we will come up with the perfect plan.
We know we’re asking you to make a big commitment of cash. But we believe our products offer a true investment in the future, superb value for money. We set up the company because we bought Duralock and TimberTech, and use them ourselves.
Which is why you can have confidence in us.
Our advice is free, if we think our products are not right for you, or your garden, we will tell you.
Our story
Finally, let me tell you a story:
In the summer of 2003, I travelled to London to surprise my sister at her 40th birthday party. It was there that I met my girlfriend, Lizzie. At the time she was a nurse working in Berkshire. I regularly travelled from Shetland to see her at the nurse's accommodation in Royal Ascot.

We'd
take walks, of an evening, round the racecourse, which was being completely
refurbished at a cost of £200 million. For this prestigious, world-class venue,
only Duralock fencing would do. I was smitten!
After a long-distance courtship, Liz moved up to Shetland and into our new timber frame house.
For three years I wondered, researched, priced and second-guessed myself. Yes, it was a beautiful fence. Yes, it was strong and maintenance free. But, would it survive the wild Shetland winter? Could I have confidence that it wouldn't get blown over? Would this fence be a great investment, or a terrible folly?
In 2007 I took the plunge! We bought a fencing system for our home. A collection of varying sizes of white picket fence, post and rail fence, ranch fence and balustrade fence. In all, we put up 240 metres of fencing.
Because we are in Shetland, we took care to install it beyond the manufacturers standards - something that we always do. I wanted peace of mind and I wanted longevity.
The fence has now been up for four winters and has been battered by 100+ miles per hour winds many times. It stands as proud and clean as the day it was erected!
Since then, we've gone on to sell numerous fences and decking installations in Shetland and across the UK.
We are always glad to have new enquiries, and we don't worry if we don't hear from you right away.
After all, it took me three years!
